DESIGN CHAT: Some Thoughts on Rugs
#1 – Rugs are the anchor that pulls the room together.
#2 – You can put a rug over carpet. We do it…and so can you!
#3 – Don’t be afraid to pull your furniture off your walls and anchor it all in the center of the room with a good sized area rug.
#4 – When choosing a rug for a dining room table, add 4′ extra to both the table top length and width so that you have room for chairs on each side (which equals out to 2′ per side.) So for a 4′ x 8′ table top, you’ll want an 8′ x 12′ rug. Make sense?!
