We’ve been waiting for this episode friends — today we chat with the lovely Vivian Mabuni! She shares a bit of her cancer journey with us and we get to hear how God used that painful season to kindle the writer within. We chat about raising kids, the writing process, some of our design loves, and giggle a bit about our short-comings (as usual!).

We also chat about Viv’s first book “Warrior In Pink: A Story of Cancer, Community and the God Who Comforts”. Viv paints a beautiful picture of how God redeems the hard parts of our stories over time and she describes the profound work of “rubbing elbows with other people’s grief”.

Vivian is passionate about seeing God raise up and unleash women who will influence the college campus, families, churches, communities, and the world. As a national conference speaker and writer, she draws on her experience from her 29 years on staff w/ Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ). Her first book, “Warrior In Pink: A Story of Cancer, Community and the God Who Comforts” (Discovery House Publishers) released in April 2014. Her next book for WaterBrook Multinomah, (the Christian imprint for Penguin Random House) will be released in 2019. Vivian has written for SheReadsTruth and is a speaker for IF:Gathering. Married 26 years to her husband, Darrin, and mom to three wonderful kids, Jonathan (24), Michael (21), and Julia (16). They live in Mission Viejo, California along with their German Shepherd, Koa.
